Shipbourne & The Great War exhibition and living history event 2014

EXHIBITION – HELD IN AUGUST 2014

On Saturday & Sunday, 2nd & 3rd August 2014, from 10am to 5pm, an exhibition was held in the village hall to pay tribute to those men who served and those who died in WWI with a living history event running alongside.

The men commemorated on Shipbourne war memorials were featured as were all those men who served that were associated with Shipbourne in some way. Any excess funds raised at the event were donated to the charity, Help for Heroes.

Shipbourne Community Projects and the Parish Council are pleased to announce that this exciting project to commemorate the centenary of the start of The Great War was partly funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.
